Tomatin Distillery - located in Scotland! We like their brand Their staff is friendly and their whisky selection is fantastic. According to some sources, illicit whisky production had been being produced in the region in the early 15th century. However, it was it was definitely in the 1800s before the first distillery that was officially created in the year 1897. Tomatin are innovative imaginative, innovative and possess an amazing sense of humor! They're also open on a Sunday, so if you're in town on Sunday, we'll visit and believe you'll enjoy every second of the experience.
Glen Ord Distillery -Founded in 1838, and now managed by Diageo, Glen Ord distillery is the only distillery left in the Black Isle and what makes its standout is that they continue to distill their own barley. This is one of the few distilleries that continue to do on their own actually, and they also produce enough barley to feed other distilleries in their Diageo brand. There's a variety of choices for visiting Glen Ord including a visit to the museum (PS3pp) and their Grain to glass tour (PS100pp) However, whatever you pick, we would recommend trying a few of the whiskies that fall under the Diageo brand. Two of our top daily whiskies are the Lagavulin 16 as well as Oban 14. Oban 14 which are very distinct and delicious whiskies. If you're celebrating either of them, both distilleries offer fantastic distillers' versions. Glen Ord specialises in the Singleton of Glen Ord 12, 15 and 18 years old, which are good to try.The next stop is next is the Dalmore Distillery with it's distinctive logo of stags' heads and an array of whiskies which will render any brand fragile. Their 12-year old whisky has become the standard . In the same spot that was an old 12 year Dalmore is now an ounce of King Alexander III. If you're unfamiliar with the whisky (you will at the point you're leaving) The King Alexander III whisky is the result of a distinctive six-cask finish (ex-bourbon casks Matusalem and oloroso sherrybutts Madeira barrels Marsala port pipes, casks and wine barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon) It's not supposed to work however it works. Very, very extremely well.Just 15 miles from Dalmore is Dalmore's neighboring distillery, the powerful Glenmorangie. In the past 7 years, Glenmorangie Distillery has slowly but gradually made its way into our collection of whiskies and is now the most popular with a minimum of 3 whiskies making an appearance in our collection. Nectar D'Or is the whisky that we offer to guests who "don't enjoy whisky" or, as we prefer to call it "the folks who haven't yet found the perfect whisky". A decade in Bourbon followed by finished for two years in Sauternes the cheeky whisky drinks down easily it's really simple! It's possible to take the risk and recommend dropping a few frozen cubes of ice and enjoying the cool summer whisky. You might be able to call it as a bit nutty, but we think that you're able to enjoy your whisky as you please whether you drink it with ice in a cocktail, or straight out like the distillery would have it. Do you have a couple of droppings of water? That's no problem! In some whiskies, that this enhances the flavor and makes whisky more accessible so that you can enjoy all the nuances of taste of the profile. If you do even once, place Coca Cola anywhere near a single malt whisky, we'll beg you to leave Scotland for ever! !At this point in the day, it's time to take the body a rest, so we go for a quick drive across the Dornoch Firth and then into Dornoch to eat lunch. There's a myriad of choices but we prefer the Dornoch which has stunning views towards the world class beach and golf course. When visiting Dornoch you shouldn't be able not to visit at the Dornoch Castle Hotel located in the Dornoch Castle Hotel, which houses one of Scotland's new distilleries, and also one of the most exquisite whisky selections within the Highlands. It's also great that there's a menu of all the distilleries and can be purchased per Dram. It's a sunny day? You can head out to the gardens of their establishment to sip some whisky under the sun or, if the weather is "wee little bit cold" The castle bar is a wonderful spot to sip a delicious single malt with the company of the locals. Are you saying, "More Whisky My Good Man!" Let's go on our way to the Balblair Distillery for a tasting of the non-age statement whiskies with a distinct flavor. Balblair Distillery doesn't let the whisky know the moment it's finished, they let whisky do its own talking, and then only bottle it once it's in "the highest point of perfection" according to their description. We like that you can get an exquisite bottle of 27 years old whisky for just 120 pounds. It is also possible to distill your own whisky at Balblair with one cask. It's which is a great touch as well as a wonderful souvenir of your trip to Scotland. The sun is almost out of the day, but it's not too late to go to one of our favorite locations in Scotland to enjoy a whisky that we keep in our own collection. This view is constantly changing when new bottles come out and older bottles are disposed off by family and friends. Millionaires View is the perfect spot to drink your last whisky along with Inverness Whisky Tours and reflect about the highlights of your Highland Single Malt Whisky Tour.Tour length: 8-9 hrs.
